Ahalya Skincare is a modern skincare brand built around the belief that everyday skincare can be simple, conscious and rooted in nature. For Fourth Lane, the task was to translate that philosophy into a visual identity that felt natural without becoming predictable, and contemporary without losing the warmth associated with skincare made with care. From the identity to the packaging, the system was designed to give Ahalya a recognisable visual presence that could grow with its product range.
The Challenge
Ahalya needed an identity that could communicate its natural, thoughtful approach to skincare while still feeling contemporary and distinctive.
The challenge was to move away from the visual language commonly associated with natural skincare, where botanical imagery, earthy palettes and overly organic aesthetics can quickly make brands feel interchangeable.
The identity needed to feel clean and approachable, but not clinical; natural, but not overly literal; contemporary, but still warm.
The Design Approach
We approached the identity by creating a visual language that felt calm, considered and uncomplicated.
Rather than relying heavily on conventional skincare cues, the design focused on creating distinction through form, typography, colour and proportion. The identity was kept intentionally flexible so that it could work across different communication formats while allowing the products to remain central.
The same thinking was carried into the packaging, where hierarchy and restraint helped create a system that felt cohesive without making every product look identical.
For the Banana Peel Face Scrub, the packaging became an opportunity to translate this identity into a more tangible, product-led experience, balancing the information required on the label with the visual character of the brand.
The Solution
The resulting identity gives Ahalya a visual presence that feels natural without being predictable and contemporary without feeling impersonal.
The system brings together:
-
A distinctive yet approachable brand identity
-
A restrained colour and typographic language
-
A flexible visual system that can extend across skincare products
-
Packaging designed as an extension of the identity rather than a separate layer
-
A clear information hierarchy that keeps the products easy to understand
Together, these elements create a cohesive foundation for Ahalya to build its skincare range and communicate consistently across packaging, social media and other brand touchpoints.
